Varela Hermanos is a Panamanian drinks producer founded by the Varela family in the early 20th century. Based in the town of Pesé, it is closely associated with sugar cane cultivation and rum production in Panama, and Ron Abuelo is its best-known spirits label.
Today, Varela Hermanos is widely recognized for producing Ron Abuelo, a range of aged Panamanian rum with international distribution. The company is also known as one of Panama’s longstanding family-owned spirits producers.
