Lagavulin Sweet Peat is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky aged for 11 years. As a younger Lagavulin matured in bourbon casks, it is generally expected to show the distillery’s signature peat smoke in a sweeter, more approachable style than some older official releases.

For a novice drinker, this means a whisky that can combine smoky coastal character with vanilla, oak, and malt sweetness from American oak cask maturation. At 43% ABV, it is bottled at a relatively accessible strength.
