This Campbeltown single malt is a 14-year-old whisky bottled at cask strength and finished in Barolo red wine casks. The wine-cask finish is intended to add extra layers of fruit and spice to Glen Scotia’s malt character.
For a novice drinker, expect a fuller, more assertive style because of the high strength, with red-fruit and oak influence alongside the distillery character. A few drops of water may help open it up and soften the intensity.
