A 14-year-old Speyside single malt bottled by independent bottler James Eadie, this release comes from Strathmill distillery and was matured in a first-fill oloroso sherry butt. That combination points toward a fuller, richer style than many lighter Speyside malts.
At 52.6% ABV, it is bottled at a robust natural strength, so a small splash of water may help open it up. For a novice drinker, expect the sherry cask influence to bring more depth, spice, and dried-fruit character than a lighter, more delicate malt.
