Sweet and fruity aromas mingled with the slightly earthy and smoky scent of cigars and pipe tobacco as we imagined standing in a shop selling confectionary in jars, boxes and tubs but at the same time being a tobacconist – what a thought! On the palate a fascinating grapple between a sweet peach liqueur and apricot jam on buttered burnt toast which we enjoyed in this old fashioned, filled to the rafters, ‘Aladdin’s cave’.
