Enticing aromas of well-fired rolls, bubblegum, spiced plums, barley sugars, polished wood and Armagnac, this seemed like some Sunday morning, long ago. The palate had treacle tart, maple syrup, raisins, jellied fruits, blackcurrant and black grapes, with tobacco, oak and stem ginger on the finish – beautifully rounded and pleasing.
