The nose hit all the right receptors as manuka honey, peanut brittle and orange syrup merged with beeswax on toasted oak, prunes soaked in rum, and wood shavings in a carpenter's leather tool belt. The palate was also a cause for elation, with dark chocolate, nuts and figs mixed into treacle and marmalade dusted with cinnamon, star anise and cloves.
