Colm and Sheena O'Rourke founded Blackness Bay, on the shores of the Firth of Forth, to make rum and whisky.1,2,3 Its company, Blackness Bay Distillery Ltd, was registered on 8 March 2023.1,2,3 It filled its first cask of rum on 28 December 2023, using its twin copper pot stills.3 Its whisky is made from malted barley from Alloa, a nearby town, and aged in oak barrels.3,4
