The nose offered light chalky smoke and teasing suggestions of hessian, heather, tea tree, pine and sage, candied pineapple and perfumed cigarettes. The palate’s smoke was mellow and muted – we identified peaty grist porridge, coal scuttles and licking a stave, but it also had sweet fruity elements such as smoked pineapple, over-toasted marshmallows, loaf sugar and orange jelly.
