The nose exuded an enticing warmth of vanilla pods, strawberry jam, caramelised apple, treacle tarts and dark chocolate melted on pumpernickel bread. The palate, powerful and punchy, dark and mysterious, had candied fruits, marzipan, malt extract, root beer and cough syrup.
