At first nosing we detected roasted red apples with golden syrup, watermelon boiled sweets and freshly baked soda bread slathered in honey, plus subtle notes of breakfast cereals dusted with icing sugar, sultanas and citrus marmalades. With water we found it became much more floral, with heady wafts of garden centres, geraniums and hints of young calvados, apple schnapps, crystallised orange peel and heather ales.
