At first nose autumn greeted us with grain sacks from late harvests, apple wine and lemon peel as if to make a toddy to wash down coffee cream choux buns. On the palate things started off with pick 'n' mix sweets followed by a meaty and fruity impression of sage stuffing meatballs with cranberry sauce, and a glass of lambrusco spiced with cinnamon and dried ginger for good measure.
