The nose welcomed us into a dentist's waiting room, delivering the scents of clinical contraptions, a new carpet and insulating tape enveloping a stack of warm electronics. Rejecting the offer of dental floss, our palates were instead served barbecue burnt ends and cornbread, with a side of pineapple on a hickory slab.
