A firm and assertive nose, we thought, with immediate notes of pollen-heavy lilies, hessian cloth, wintergreen, putty and sandalwood, plus bouillon stock with bay leaf and a nourishing waft of freshly baked pastries and breads. With water we found furniture oils, pine cones, sunflower seeds and trampled clover.
