This is a 13-year-old Islay single malt bottled from a single refill barrel at cask strength. Refill wood usually lets the distillery character stay more visible, so the spirit is likely to show a clearer view of the make rather than heavy cask influence.

As an independent Laphroaig release, it is expected to lean toward the distillery’s well-known smoky, maritime and medicinal style. The high strength may make it more intense and concentrated, and a little water can help open it up for easier tasting.
