89/ 100Very good

This is a 13-year-old Islay single malt bottled from a single refill barrel at cask strength. Refill wood usually lets the distillery character stay more visible, so the spirit is likely to show a clearer view of the make rather than heavy cask influence.

Very good review score, 89 out of 100
A nuclear smoke bomb with warming peat, barbecue ashes, sea spray and medicinal notes—one of the nicest young Laphroaig expressions the reviewer has had lately.
