We noted at first a wonderful intense, yet delicate, citrus sweetness of lemon scones with clotted cream, followed by sliced pears and peaches and the aromatic scent of pine trees. Still feisty on the palate neat, a lemony zing like that of a well-made grapefruit and thyme gin fizz, with a corny bourbon note in the finish.
