A smooth, sweet melody greeted the panel of kumquat cake with an orange glaze and strawberry fudge as we crushed a geranium leaf between our fingers and picked up the scent of citrus and other fruits with a hint of spice and roses. On the palate we bit into a lemon bar - a buttery shortbread crust with a gooey, creamy, lemony filling on top.
