A complex blend of hazelnuts, walnuts and marzipan joined madeira cake and vanilla sponge while the sweet fragrance of bergamot, roses and carnations merged with new leather boots and cherry jam. The palate was big and spicy, with ginger, cinnamon and white peppercorns alongside figs, dates and raisins combining with pencil shavings and peanut satay.
