The rather dry nose evoked hessian sacks and cigar boxes, nutmeg, ginger, and charred wood; also, currants, chardonnay, and butterscotch sweets. The palate offered golden raisins, orange peel and stewed red fruits, chocolate, and caramel – with a finish of white pepper, Fernet Branca and struck match.
