The nose was slightly unusual – not the vanilla custard, cereal notes, fruit pastes or white pepper and candied fennel seed warmth, but hair styling wax and eucalyptus muscle rub raised eyebrows. The neat palate had vibrant, zesty sour lemon and red chilli heat dancing on our tongues – hints of banana, white chocolate and Madeira cake too, but mostly just impressive calefaction.
