An Arcadian array of aromas cheered us immediately – grapefruit, lemon and bergamot, bog myrtle, juniper and pine, rosemary, tarragon and Turkish delight. The palate was curiously complex – some orange and lemon tanginess, vetiver and caraway kummel, with the sweet, comforting warmth of clove rock and aniseed balls.
