The initial comment was “this appears to be a brooding dram’, with aromas of treacle, blackcurrant liquorice, and hoisin sauce but there was also a sweeter side to it with dates, raisins and cinnamon toast. On the palate the toast was spread with spice-infused cherry preserve including cinnamon and cloves as well as dry red wine.
