Welcomed by a sweetly fragrant nose of jasmine, rose petals and lily of the valley we gently moved towards tinned peaches in syrup, vanilla sponge cake and rhubarb and custard sweets. A tingly mouthfeel of crystallised ginger and strawberry sherbet surrounded nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves before the arrival of green apples, gooseberries and fresh sawdust.
