The nose had a fabulous sweet earthiness – brandy snaps, banana loaf made with brown sugar, sugar buns, chocolate raisin Poppets, hay bales and a roast chestnut stand. Rich, fruity and earthy, the palate gave us wonderful and unusual flavours of dark cherries, marrons glacés, chilli-glazed apricots, treacle scones and mochachino.
