Speyside, Spey We found the initial nose slightly sharp and ‘sneezy’ – a silversmith’s workshop, washing powder and strimming nettles were mentioned; but it also had good sweet and sour fruitiness (strawberry tarts, lemon meringue pie, honeyed pears). The palate gave us some sweet pleasures (honey, toffee, coffee Matchmakers, pistachio Turkish Delight) spices (black peppercorn) and sharp fruits (grape, gooseberry, cranberry, marmalade).
