We first noticed the deep red mahogany colour and then we sniffed wood glue followed by an abundance of further ester aromas like peaches, apples, pineapples, pear drops and desiccated coconut – smiling faces all round. Smouldering heat on the palate combined with strawberry jam and whipped cinnamon cream and a mouth-drying finish made this an experience to be savoured.
