Nine Banded Straight Bourbon is an American whiskey made primarily from corn and matured in new charred oak barrels, which is what gives bourbon much of its familiar vanilla, caramel, and oak character. For a novice drinker, this style is usually approachable and fuller-bodied than many lighter whiskies, with a balance of sweetness from the grain and spice from the oak.
