Kanosuke / Dingle / Meikle Tòir (The Whisky Exchange)
An extreme, bitter whisky, with honey-glazed orange cake and caramel on the nose, but gunflints, artichokes, coffee and bitter walnuts dominating the palate.
Explosive fruitiness gives way to orange sweets, then shifts toward focaccia and sourdough, finishing with barley, vanilla and herbal infusions.
A wildly unusual whisky of prunes, miso, ham, saline chocolate and pepper, it may not be delicate, but it certainly puts on a spectacle.
A magnificent cavalcade of sharp citrus fruits—lemons, kumquats, limes, bergamot, yuzu and finger lime—keeps rolling through the finish.
