Its barley comes from Akeman Street Farm, 15 minutes down the road.1,9,11 Difford's Guide says the barley is malted at Warminster Maltings.1,9,11 Difford's Guide described its water as Severn Trent tap water, cleaned in a three-step process.11 In the first stillhouse, each mash filled one of 8 washbacks with 2,600 litres, and fermentation lasted just shy of four days.11 The spirit is distilled twice in copper pot stills.4 In 2014 the first stills were wide-necked, with steeply angled lyne arms.8 The first stillhouse's wash still is Mary and its spirit still Janis, with a shell and tube condenser that turns vapour back into spirit.7,11 Seeking a cleaner, fruity spirit, the team stopped the wash still at about 2% alcohol.11 The hearts of the spirit run began at about 75.5% alcohol and ended at 69%, which Difford's Guide calls very high, in the quest for a fruity lighter whisky.11
In June 2018 crowdfunding raised £3 million and brought over a thousand new shareholders.4,12,13 The money built a visitor centre, completed in April 2019.4,12,13 In 2022 Jeremy Parsons took over from Szor as chief executive.5,6,14 A second whisky distillery, four times the size of the original, began running in November 2022 and opened in January 2023.1,4,6 Forsyths built it in a Speyside hangar, with a 2-ton mash tun, a 10,000-litre wash still and a 7,500-litre spirit still; the site now has four whisky stills.1,4,6 The site can now make 500,000 litres of pure alcohol a year.1,6,15 In April 2023 Berry Bros & Rudd bought a 10% stake, and its chief executive, Emma Fox, joined the board.4,5,6
The distillery has its own bonded warehouse in the Cotswolds.11,16 Bourbon, sherry and STR casks make up some 99% of its ageing stock; STR casks are ex-red wine casks that are shaved, toasted and re-charred.11,16
In August 2024 wetlands opened on the site to treat its wastewater.1,17 Investor Berry Bros & Rudd funded the wetlands.1,17 In February 2026 Szor took back the chief executive role after Parsons left.3,5,18
