From farm to distillery
Rankin had worked at Chivas Brothers and Morrison Bowmore Distillers.1,2 Building began in November 2017, and production was then due to start in summer 2018.1,2,3 The Highland Historic Environment Record considers the old farm buildings curtilage listed, meaning protected as part of the grounds of Category A listed Ardross Castle.4 By 2019 Greenwood Distillers, founded by Barthelemy Brosseau, planned to make its spirits there, with Rankin as chairman and master blender.1
How it makes its spirit
Its water comes from Loch Dubh, just behind the distillery, and the site was chosen partly for the loch.1,
