The nose started with Danish oil, washback pine and light oak, flirted with strawberry, vanilla and raspberry frangipane, then reached a citric synthesis of cloudy lemonade, lemon tart and lime sweets. The palate had a voluptuous texture which, left in the mouth, became entertainingly spritzy – tingly sherbet and orange sorbet; then cherries, apricot jam, marzipan and honey vied with lemon, lime, ginger, pepper and gentian root.
