The nose was a comforting cascade of orchard fruits and citric sunshine – including tutti frutti, toffee apples, peaches, orange peel; rhubarb rock and sherbet lemons in wax paper. The taste found a vein of vanilla and floods of fruit combining tart and sweet flavours – red apples, victoria plums, blackberries, cranberries and raspberries; then a reverberating finish of black pepper, soft oak and subtle spice.
