Aromas arrived with a peppery tingle, a combination of chilli chocolate and peppercorns that drifted towards carnations but with overtones of beeswax polish and dripping candles. On the tongue it was a step back in time with all the fun of the fair, spinning on wooden rides with the sweet character of candy floss and toffee apples heavy in the air.
