Very peaty. Lots of smoke on the palette. My first Port Ellen!
Peated
Port Ellen 1978 4th Release is a well-aged Islay single malt from a distillery long known for its rarity and smoky coastal style. For a novice drinker, this is the kind of whisky often associated with layered peat, maritime character, and the extra complexity that can come with extended maturation.
