In 1987 Allied Lyons, which had bought 50% of Hiram Walker the year before, bought the whole group.^3,5,6 In 1994 Allied Lyons became Allied Domecq.^3,6 In 2005 Pernod Ricard bought Allied Domecq and put Miltonduff under Chivas Brothers.^1,3,5 In April 2022 Chivas Brothers announced a new distillery beside the old one, to add 10 million litres of alcohol a year.^5,7,8 A later planning notice covered a 28-hectare site, and Chivas Brothers later said the new distillery was still in its design phase.^5,7,8

Miltonduff has 3 wash stills and 3 spirit stills.^3,5,6 The stills are onion-shaped, and shell-and-tube condensers cool their vapour, with a sub-cooler on each still.^3,6 They are heated by gas, with steam through a heat exchanger and a thermocompression system.³ It uses unpeated malt from the suppliers Simpsons and Bairds.³ Its 16 washbacks are made of stainless steel.³ Fermentation lasts at least 48 hours.³ Its water comes from the Black Burn, a stream the abbey's monks once used to brew ale.^3,5,6 ScotchWhisky.com gives its capacity as 5.9 million litres of alcohol a year, while Chivas Brothers' Sandy Hyslop put it at around 10 million litres.
