Decadent Drinks is an independent bottler that its founders, Angus MacRaild and Iain McClune, began in 2018 as a side project.1,2,3 Its first bottlings came out in January 2019 as Whisky Sponge, named after Angus's satirical blog, and that series ended with Edition No.100.1,2,3 Decadent Drinks Ltd, with its registered office in Perth, was incorporated on 25 September 2020, and in 2024 it launched Whiskyland, a flagship series limited to 100 Chapters.1,4,5
On 5 October 2023, Vintage Saga Ltd became the controlling shareholder, with 75% or more of the shares and voting rights, and 3 directors resigned.10,11 Alistair Grant Black was appointed a director on 24 October 2023.10,11 Whiskyland and Decadent Drams joined Equinox & Solstice and Old Orkney, originally the bottling brand of Stromness Distillery, which closed in 1928, and bought from Gordon & MacPhail.2,5,9
