Think I prefer the bourbon cask but it’s good (and I’m not sherry-by-default)
The nose is a little raw for me. Can’t put my finger on it. Love the taste though. The bourbon finish adds a nice touch of the caramel but not overpowering.

Naked and vertical Caol Ila, with the spotlight firmly on coastal notes: brine, seaweed, cold ashes and a moderate tarry edge.
Generous pineapple, peach and mango lead into creamy orchard fruits, waxy notes, sweet lemon and buttered toast, making this quite excellent.
A quirky, characterful whisky with farmy funk, engine oil, medicinal herbs, cedar, salted liquorice and a long finish of dark chocolate and spice.
A rich, dark whisky packed with ripe plums, stewed figs, caramel and baking spice, though its depth feels slightly bloated and less bright than the first batch.
